Director of urban planning visits Singapore urban redevelopment authority

Eng. Abdullah Al-Karrani Director of the Department of urban planning, Mr. Juma Sabah head of urban design in urban planning management in a quick visit to the urban redevelopment authority in the Republic of Singapore. The visit aimed primarily to continue substantive exchange of experiences and professional training of the second batch of scholarship schemes for Qatari traineeship of the redevelopment authority of Singapore, which includes Ms. Fatima Al-Badr (architect), Ms. Aisha Al-Kubaisi (urban planner) and Ms. Sumaya Obeidi (urban planner). This program which is part of the continuity of the agreement for cooperation in the training of urban planners, between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Singapore, to achieve higher rates of close international cooperation with the Republic of Singapore and the achievement of the Convention between the two States concerning training and capacity-building for planners and meet modern planning methods and the Singapore experience in planning and sustainable development, the program comes to complement the eagerness of urban planning management in municipalities and the environment ongoing technical support staff, the building had.During the visit, was also to hold a series of technical meetings to discuss joint cooperation between municipalities and the environment represented by the Department of urban planning with urban redevelopment authority in Singapore. The delegation had focused on the continuity of technical and professional exchange and share experiences. Also discussed a joint conference to discuss planning experience, especially with crystallized Qatar State experience in hosting the 2022 World Cup event, the Singapore side keen to understand the features of the experiment and its components. The delegation also inspected a group of major projects that demonstrate features of planning and urban experience in Singapore, especially in terms of the physical side is compatible with the environment and activate the pedestrian movement in the city, and green areas and open communication. The visit culminated in the agreement on vocational training program continuity and interaction, the delegation also gave thanks to the program coordinators and leaders in the urban redevelopment authority and commemorative gifts were exchanged by both sides.
