Urban planning management leaders meeting with the Director of the Centre for environmental and municipality studies.

Within the framework of activating the highest cooperation between urban planning department at MME and Center for environment and municipal studies, a delegation of Department of urban planning leaders met with Dr Mohamed Saif Al-kawari, Director of the Center to discuss future cooperation. The meeting was attended by Eng. Abdullah AlKarrani, Director of urban planning Dept., planning consultant Mubarak Al Nuaimi coordinator of Central Doha and GIS expert and QNMP coordinator Maryam Zainal, and Prof. Ali A. Alraouf, capacity building, research and development coordinator.
The meeting began with an introduction from Dr. Saif about the value of the Centre and its activities and the importance of investing in human development to achieve the highest degree of development and compatibility with the vision of Qatar. He stated that human development is the real key to the success of people. He also praised Qatar National Master Plan project and congratulated the delegation on project launch, which he regarded as an achievement for the State as a whole. Eng. Alkarrani explained the different perspectives for cooperation with the Centre, including cooperation in the areas of training, capacity-building, research activities and attending conferences regionally and globally. Eng. AlKarrani also noted the importance of the needed support from the center for the team?s ambitions in joining international organizations in the field of design and urban planning and works to make Qatar a regional center both in training, research areas and hosting conferences. Dr. Al-kawari promised the delegation to render every support and harness the full potential of the Centre to achieve the aspirations of urban planning dept., especially with regard to enrich the global and regional status of Qatar.
